Prototype and Tooling

National Composites offers a full spectrum of composite services, ensuring complete oversight from the initial pattern and prototyping phase through to final production. Our in-house operations excel in creating precise patterns and prototypes with our state-of-the-art CNC machines. With facilities such as Excel anchoring our CNC capabilities, we are adept at sculpting exact models essential for the composite manufacturing process. Our “Small Plant Focus, Big Company Resources” philosophy guarantees meticulous attention to detail for every project, regardless of size. Our seasoned professionals are skilled in constructing tools for various molding methods, using materials like Polyester, Vinylester, Epoxy, and specialized heated composites. Depending on the project requirements, our sophisticated techniques include hand layup or infusion methods, perfect for crafting detailed prototypes and managing specific low-volume production runs efficiently.

Thermoform Plastics

At National Composites, our approach to thermoform plastics represents a harmonious fusion of aesthetic appeal and robust durability. Thermoforming, as a cornerstone of our offerings, provides a cost-effective solution and is well-suited low to high volume production and cosmetic needs. One of its standout advantages lies in the relatively low tooling investment required, making it a go-to choice for many projects. Yet, our innovation doesn’t stop there. By integrating Fiber Reinforced Plastics (FRP) into the mix, we amplify the structural integrity of our products without compromising on their cosmetic allure. The result? Components that beautifully merge the surface durability and cost-efficiency of thermoform plastics with the unmatched strength of fiberglass. With National Composites, clients get the best of both worlds, ensuring their projects stand out in form and function.

Metal Fabrication & Paint

The Metal Fabrication division at National Composites offers comprehensive solutions, focusing on producing custom cab assemblies. Within this process, we integrate our plastic and composite capabilities to create a cohesive final product. Our fabrication expertise encompasses tasks such as installing cockpit controls, wiring, seating components, glass, doors, and interior upholstery. We work with both steel and aluminum, producing essential items like brackets and support hardware.

Our painting capabilities are an integral part of our offerings. From paint-ready primer to Class-A finishes, we ensure surfaces meet the highest standards. Utilizing state-of-the-art facilities, we handle stringent customer demands efficiently. Our techniques cover everything from metal preparation to top-coat applications, employing proven top-coat or base/clear application technologies. With a rich history in the coating industry, we have established systems for prep, prime, and paint that cater to metals, plastics, and composites.
