Matt Lefurgey

With over 35 years of experience in operations management, primarily in the automotive industry, Matt Lefurgey brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to National Composites. Matt’s career began as a second shift supervisor, and through dedication and hard work, he rose to the position of general manager, overseeing four plants and 3,000 employees, while also serving on the board of directors.

Transitioning to the composites industry, Matt has applied his extensive experience to enhance MPI’s operations. Matt is passionate about working with people, helping them grow, and identifying those eager to advance in their careers.

An alumnus of Michigan State University, Matt holds a Bachelor of Arts in Materials and Logistics Management with an emphasis in Operations Management. Although he initially pursued computer science, a transformative internship in manufacturing led him to his true calling.

Outside of work, Matt enjoys cooking, often experimenting with new recipes, and landscape photography, which he has turned into a small business. He loves camping and exploring Michigan’s beach towns during the summer. Matt has a unique talent for playing Santa Claus, creating magical experiences for children in his community.

A proud father, Matt has two children: a daughter with a degree in supply chain management and a son with a degree in computer engineering, both from MSU. He is currently engaged and enjoys spending time with his family.
